Last Friday we took another step in growing our brand. We were invited to the Carolina Golf Fest pop-up event at NoDa Brewing in Charlotte, NC. This was an event created for small golf businesses in the Carolina’s. We were honored to be a last minute addition, but admittedly we were very nervous.
A rushed order for a banner at a print shop was put in on Tuesday and we picked it up on Thursday night ready to be displayed on Friday. Although, that was the least of our concerns. We did not have as much product to display as we would’ve liked. Somehow, we had sold out of our white and blue hats in less than 60 days, and we only had 4 black ones left. We knew we could make our table look busy with some visors, headcovers, and koozies; but we felt a bit naked and underprepared.
Then, somehow, from the clouds a giant package arrived for Single Fin Golf mid-day on that Friday. It was our long awaited shorts. These shorts are basically why we started Single Fin. We wanted to create a “bathing suit like” golf short that also had belt loops to combat against the hot and sticky days of playing golf in the American South.
Questions of why or how the shorts arrived at such a perfect time were not needed. We knew we had gotten lucky and we were stoked to get real in-person feedback on our shorts. A sporty 7 inch inseam in khaki or navy blue adorned with the Single Fin script just above the back right pocket, they were and still are beautiful. The question was; would others feel the same way?
Luckily, people did feel the same way. Customers were trying the shorts on and loving them, some even denouncing their love for Lulu Lemon. Long story “short”, it was a successful evening. We had friends come to support us and we made some new ones as well.
We are always so thankful for all of the support we receive from those who know us and from complete strangers who just like our brand. This is only the beginning for Single Fin and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
